Career Highlights:
Born in Lithuania, Tony's aggressively competitive nature has been ingrained in his psych from an early age. He was the Rubiks cube champion in his hometown of Kaunas, Lithuania and showed talent for chess at an early age of 6, attending a chess school for the gifted.
Tony's family migrated to Australia when he was 11, where he excelled in sports and became an excellent basketball player and played in the leagues.
It was from this competitive environment and his life long exposure to card games, that naturally progressed him into becoming one of Australias greatest players. Tony G was a great fan of online poker when it first came on the scene.
Tony G chipped his mark on the world poker scene playing his first live tournament in 2001 at the European World Series of Poker(EWSOP), placing 2nd in the tournament. The following year Tony G took out the World Heads Up Omaha Championship, in Vienna snatching first place from Dave Ulliott (a.k.a Devilfish).
In 2006, Tony won a the WPT Bad Boys of Poker II, in Los Angeles, eliminating a star studded final table which included Gus Hansen, Men Nguyen, Phil Hellmuth, Mike Matusow and Jean Robert Bellande. He then took out the victory by beating Mike Matusow heads up.
Although yet to win a WSOP bracelet Tony has done exceptionally well finishing in the money with the majority of tournaments.
