Paul Darden is a professional poker player, music promoter and night club owner from Connecticut. Accused but later acquitted of murder at the age of 15 due to mistaken identity, poker was a changing force in Darden’s life as he was helped by mentor Phil Ivey.
A strong Seven Card Stud player, he had several prominent finishes prior to picking up a gold bracelet for the game at the 2001 WSOP where he bat Tom Franklin heads up at the final table. He improved the following year earning a WPT title in the $3,000 Main Event of the Gold Rush Tournament. Lucky enough to score an invite to WPT’s inaugural Bad Boys of Poker, he played a spectacular game and finished second to Gus Hansen. He has two cashes in the WSOP Main Event finishing in 2003 and 2005.
