Kathy Liebert, a Long Island native is the first female poker player to win over $1,000,000 in a single prize for a poker tournament. She picked up a bachelors degree in business and finance and followed suit into corporate life. She eventually saved enough and quit her job to travel.
Liebert’s professional poker career started in Colorado where she was playing as a prop player and went on to win the Party Poker Million event in 2002. Liebert has a number of solid finishes under her belt including five World Poker Tour final tables, and a third place finish in the Borgata Poker Open. She has a gold bracelet to add to the notches on her belt, which was hard earned in the $1,500 Texas Holdem Limit shoot out event. She also swung well for her team winning Poker Royale: Battle of the Sexes. She has more than $5,000,000 in tournament winnings.
