Career Highlights:

Daniel 'Kid Poker' Negreanu originally hails from Toronto in Canada and his poker career started early at age 15. After learning to play poker he soon started spending time playing cards, in local pool halls and sports betting. He dropped out of high school several points short of graduation and became a rounder playing in illegal games and charity casinos around the city. After building up a sizeable bankroll he headed to the epicentre of the poker world - Las Vegas.

His dream of becoming a professional poker player came to a grinding halt after the stip got the better of him and he scuttled back home to Toronto. However he wasn't home for long and was soon back on his poker high horse. In 1997 he won two events at the World Poker Finals earning over $50,000 and was named the tournaments best player. He followed this with more success at the 98 World Series of Poker and was up until 2004 the youngest bracelet winner in WSOP history. He further expanded on his success with two World Poker Tour events and another three bracelets at the World Series. He has been a regular at the Bellagio in Vegas for years now and unlike many other players is rather outspoken about his poker results.

Negreanu has the uncanny ability to almost flawlessly read his opponents and their hole cards. A quick search of you tube will give numerous poker videos that showcase this talent excellently. Negreanu rates this as one of the most important skills he employs when at the poker table.

He has channelled his poker success into teaching taking on several protégé's and attempting to model them into professional poker pros and paying their buy ins to several $10,000 events. In addition to his hands on teaching activities, Negreanu has also taken the time to pen Holdem Wisdom for all players, a book similar to Doyle Brunson's Super System that teaches player how to play Texas Holdem Like a Pro.

In addition to his tournament successes, Negreanu has played on several notable televised poker competitions including Poker After Dark, Late Night Poker and High Stakes Poker. He is a regular contributor to card player magazine having authored over 100 articles and is also known to mentor several celebrity poker players.
