WTF is a Double Up SnG?

carbonpoker-lobbyNew feature time!

With the newest release of CarbonPoker software, things have been pretty busy around here. One of the great new features that has been keeping us busy is the Double Up SnG.

For those of you that haven’t played one of these bad boys, here are the general details:

Standard SitnGo beginning – the tourney begins when the pre-determined number of entrants have registered.

The big difference comes in the payout. Let’s use a 10 person SnG as the example. The payout structure awards the top half of players with double their buy-in and for the bottom half… nothing!

In the 10 person example, once the field is down to 5 participants, the tourney is over and payouts are awarded. Instead of a smaller percentage of winners, 50% doubles up while 50% cries quietly.

There are some interesting strategies that go on during this style of play. Staying tight near the bubble is a must — letting other players be the table hero and finally bouncing out the final competitor.

I also love these. I think that if you are an above average player then you have no excuse not to be able to get at least 5th! I’ve only played in 2 so far but I’ve cashed in both. And yes there is a HUGE difference in strategy when it gets to the bubble…I’ve laid down AQ and 10’s preflop–cuz it doesnt matter if u get 1st or 5th as long as its somewhere in between………in other news i havent tried the ‘all in or fold’ sng’s but I’m not sure if I want to

wtf. Since they don’t count toward the leader board, I quit playing them. The allin or fold doesn’t count toward the leader board either. They are sitn go’s, why don’t they count? Theres no post that say they don’t. I asked supports after I noticed that my points was staying the same after playing about 20 of them and they said they don’t. They are raked and they should count. Maybe not as much as a regular 6 or 10 seater but something.

Luv these new sng’s to but i have to agree with zero07 these should earn lb points. Where i disagree with zero07 is that even though we get no lb points i will continue to play as they are and excellent innovative new game that makes cb even more player friendly.

These tournaments are fun just for the sole reason of seeing people’s strategies(or lack of them). I love when someone has a top 5 spot locked up and plays and loses and eventually loses. Its as if they don’t realize top 5 gets the same amount.

I love them too. But i also agree that they should qualify for the leaderboard
