The Final Countdown (to the Blogger Tourney)

With only one day to go until the CarbonPoker Blogger Tourney, things are getting pretty intense.
I’ve locked myself to my computer, practicing for the event. I’ve read my own poker strategy posts again and again and I’ve been reading all the other competing blogs to try and spot some weaknesses (there are many).
For the No-Limit Hold’em event tomorrow at 7pm EST — feel free to come in and watch — there will be a full table of 10 competitors, a live chat thread on the CarbonPoker Blog and me dominating the action. What else could you hope for?
Stay posted for the full lineup of players, side bets, nicknames, recaps and guest posts.
Don’t forget that there’s a $500 prizepool at stake — so in addition to the smack talk, there will be some pretty decent (or stupid) poker being played.
This is going to be the first of many blogger poker events, so if you’re out there writing on the web, let me know in the comments or on Twitter ( @carbonpoker ).

As I told you yesterday, next Wednesday is the highly touted Blogger Poker Tourney at Carbon.
The trash talking is starting already with Tweets, posts and an email thread longer than your worst bad beat story.
@PUNTE at WithLeather is leading off with something we can all agree on:

There’s also a TON of stuff from the email thread I wanted to include, but after censoring it for language and decency…there wasn’t much left that you could make sense out of.
We’re considering some sidebets for the action, and one of them is: first player to bust out has to replace their current header with a Unicorn. I’ll agree to any side bet, because I WON’T be losing.
I’ll keep you posted on a full list of players, when you can come watch the action, and more smack talk.
Carbon Blogger Tourney Set for Next Week

As a blogger, I spend most of my day fending off girls, benefiting my company, cruising around on the internet and looking at sites that I like. After hitting the comment boards, nagging on email and getting more “friends” on Twitter, I put together a roster of some of my favorite blogs from around the net for CarbonPoker’s inaugural Blogger Poker Tourney (better name coming soon; I swear).
Bloggers are never that far from their computers, so scheduling it wasn’t a real issue. We just let it settle on the night that all of us had the least social engagements…a guy can’t watch old VHS tapes of the 1978 WSOP every night, can he?
Next Wednesday 15, 2009 we’re hitting the felts for blog supremacy and a $500 prizepool.

I’d also like to take a second to introduce myself. If you’ve been a reader for the last few weeks, you’ll recognize me — I’m Alan and I’ll be locking this new blog down. Expect half-assed work, guest posts and the occasional nugget of pure, sweet gold. Gold is sweet, right?

All you have to do is post a blog about the Carbon Poker Bad Beat Jackpot becoming the biggest ever, or about breaking the $1 million mark. In return we will be holding a number of freerolls for all those who take part. Simply post your blog and then post in the appropriate thread in the player forum, with your user name and blog link and we will credit you with a coupon to one of the blogger freerolls. The blogger freerolls will be held in February, so you will have up until the end of January to post your blog links

Hello, Hello, all you poker players. You may have noticed that there is a new individual named Jason keeping your favourite poker blog up to date with all your CarbonPoker.com news. Introducing me. Jason. Who am I, What happened to good old Phil, I see you all scratch your heads and wonder.
Well to be completely honest, Phil went to hang with video gamers and I’m the new marketing guy. Most of the time I can be found lurking around your tournament games watching the action from the shadows so I have something to blog on about.
Regarding that, if there is anything in particular you would like to hear me blog on about, want to give me kudos or send me an abusive message regarding one of my blogs (yes, that’s cool too), I would love to hear from you. Drop me a line sometime.
