Another Bad Beat Jackpot at Carbon Poker Goes off at $300,000+

Posted By : Comb Over-Under February 11th, 2010

bad beat jackpotAWESOME UPDATE: in the past 12 months, CarbonPoker has paid out $2,833,938.01 to our Bad Beat Jackpot winners and losers.

Just as the famous Carbon Poker Bad Beat Jackpot hit $300,000, five lucky winners brought it right back down.

On the flop, medman08 had 4 Aces and WizAlex0 had 3 9s. The Turn completed WizAlex0’s 4 of a kind (9s), and both players were obviously all-in. The pot was a paltry $277, but the payout was extreme. WizAlex0 took down $105,723 as the hand’s loser and medman08 won $52,862.

Let’s not forget about the three others at the table who won $17,621 for their troubles (folding).

For those of you that don’t know, the Carbon Poker Bad Bead Jackpot goes off when a hand of Quad 7s or higher gets beaten — keep in mind that this is the lowest qualifier online.

Payout:

  • WizAlex0 Wins $105,723.46 (Bad Beat Loser)
  • medman08 Wins $52,861.73 (Bad Beat Winner)
  • RMaroni Wins $17,620.57 (Bad Beat Other)
  • Market6226 Wins $17,620.57  (Bad Beat Other)
  • OneFatDog Wins $17,620.57 (Bad Beat Other)

How the CarbonPoker Bad Beat Jackpot Works

Posted By : Comb Over-Under October 28th, 2009

bad beat payout

CarbonPoker’s Bad Beat Jackpot is one of my favorite promos. It’s just a nice bonus to keep in the back of your mind when you’re playing at one of our designated BBJ Tables.

As you’ve seen lately, we’ve been spitting out Bad Beat Jackpots like watermelon seeds at the hillbilly olympics, so I thought I’d let you know about how the payouts work.

Basically, you play Hold’em as usual until something amazing happens. Simple, no? If you’re on one of our BBJ tables and a Quad 7 or BETTER is beaten, then the jackpot goes off — this is the lowest qualifier online. As seen in the image above, here is the payout structure:

  • 35% to the loser of the hand
  • 17.5% to the winner of the hand
  • 17.5% to other players in the hand (that means no sitting out and getting paid!)
  • 20% to reseeding the jackpot
  • 10% to Merge Gaming

If you’re playing at a non-BBJ table and your quad Kings gets pwnd by a Royal Flush, you’re out of luck, but stick to the BBJs for increased action.

Another Day, Another Bad Beat Jackpot

Posted By : Comb Over-Under October 27th, 2009

carbonpokerpicThe CarbonPoker Bad Beat Jackpot as once again paid out! This is the third time in 1 month.

We know with the lowest qualifier online (Quad 7s or better losing), our Jackpot would be more frequent, but lately the RNGs have been dealing up bad beats at a frantic pace.

Just this morning, starterkit’s Queen High Straigh Flush bested GLADIATOR8791’s Quad 8s in a hand with a $23 pot on one of our Bad Beat Jackpot Tables. You know the rest.

$42,633.32 was awarded to GLADIATOR8791 and starterkit’s bankroll was padded with an additional $21,316.66. A slice of $3,045.23 was handed out to the remaining 7 players at the table — proving once again that losing can be profitable. CarbonPoker is the home of Bad Beats lately.

Because the Jackpots have gone off so often lately, these guys weren’t close to our $1.2Million Bad Beat Jackpot payout, but I’m sure they’ll still take it.

As usual, the Jackpot has been reseeded and is already growing. Check it out on the Homepage to see it increase in real time.

CarbonPoker Pays Out Bad Beat Jackpot For Second Time in a Month

Posted By : Comb Over-Under October 2nd, 2009

carbonpoker-lobbyThe Bad Beat Jackpot at CarbonPoker has been one of the busiest online! Seriously, it seems like we can’t turn around without someone hitting the payout — and we couldn’t be happier.

We paid out over $167,000 to the Bad Beat Jackpot winners — oh yeah, that was on a > $75 pot. That’s some sweet action.

Last night, it was a Royal Flush (spades) beating out 4 Kings. Congrats to rangerjay1 for hitting the top prize of $58,456.93 (and losing with quad Kings), and callmeguys for his $29,228.46 take from the jackpot.

Oh yeah — and the players who were present (and wisely got out of the way of these hands) pulled in $4,175.49. As always, just sitting there and bringing in a few grand? That’s the easiest money in poker.

It’s just cool to see that the Jackpot can go off at any time. It keeps people on their toes and the Bad Beat tables busy. Remember – you can’t hit the Bad Beat Bonus without playing at a designated Bad Beat table.

Because the jackpot went off so recently, it wasn’t a massive Bad Beat Jackpot Payout, but as you can tell, these guys are all still pleased with it.

Here is a snippet of the chat, after the jackpot went off:

” Fullcasa44>sweet
allinMustbethemoney>YES !!!!!!!
Paymepal>awesome
callmeguys>gg
allinMustbethemoney>How sweet is that !
Paymepal>u guys are the best
Paymepal>lol
Fullcasa44>good job guys “

As always, the Jackpot has been reseeded and is ready for the next winner. I can only assume that it’ll go off tomorrow.

After the yump, check out the full money breakdown, pot size and hand breakdown.

CarbonPoker’s Bad Beat Jackpot Pays Out Again!

Posted By : Comb Over-Under September 22nd, 2009

cash_pileFor the third time this year, the Bad Beat Jackpot has gone off and paid out. Want to hear about over $600K in poker payouts? Read on!

In the wee hours of the morning, WhiteCSix’s Royal Flush beat baseball127’s straight flush on one of Carbon’s Bad Beat Tables.

As the loser of the hands, baseball127 cleaned up with a staggering $211,758.31. WhiteCSix’s Royal Flush was good for 6 figures as well, totaling $105,879.15. Decent, right?

As for the players that smartly got out of the way, they all earned $15,125.59. For just. sitting. there. /logs on to poker account… /plays hands… /hopes for $15K.

As you probably know, CarbonPoker has the lowest qualifier of any Bad Beat Jackpot online. Only Quad 7s or better need to be beaten for the bonus to payout. The guys playing last night, however, weren’t messing around and decided to show down with two of the biggest hands in poker.

If you missed out on the jackpot, don’t worry! The BBJ has been reseeded and currently sits at a sizable $125K. Sure, that’s less than baseball127 took down himself, but the Bad Beat Jackpot has a way of getting up there when you least expect it.

Earlier this year, we had a World Record payout of $1.2Million and another one of almost $750K. It seems that CarbonPoker just loves giving away cash.
Congrats on tbe big wins, guys. If you’re looking to make an investment… I know this really great blogger with a lot of big ideas… Just let me know.

Bad Beat Jackpot Reaches Half a Million Bucks

Posted By : CarbonPoker September 4th, 2009

The Bad Beat Jackpot is growing, growing, growing.

We paid out $745K and $1.2Million earlier this year, and the jackpot has already reached $504K (at the time of writing). As soon as the total gets up to half a mill, we really see the action increase on Bad Beat Tables. You’ve gotta be playing on a Bad Beat table for the jackpot to be eligible.

As I’ve explained before, CarbonPoker’s Bad Beat Jackpot has THE LOWEST qualifier online (kind of like your sister). If you have a hand of Quad 7s or better beaten, the jackpot goes off. Everybody sitting at the table gets paid out, the hand’s “winner” gets paid out, and the “loser” gets the bulk of it.

So, losers, when your sure thing hand gets beaten at CarbonPoker, there is definitely a silver lining.

Just being around for it is good enough. The last time it paid out, guys that were sitting at the table received $18K — not to mention the $500K+ that went to the big winner. Life-changing cash, folks.

Hit the tables. Each played hand on the Bad Beat tables puts more cash into the Jackpot. Build it up and cash it out!

Bad Beat Jackpot Strategy

Posted By : CarbonPoker July 16th, 2009

badbeatjackpotDue to the fact that one can win a fortune in just one hand of play, everyone wants to win Carbon Poker’s Bad Beat Jackpot.  At the time of this writing, the Jackpot is sitting at $281,095 and is only going to get bigger!  Seeing as how there is so much money to be won in the Bad Beat Jackpot, it’s definitely worth coming up with a plan of attack for winning this cash.

The important thing to remember when going for the Jackpot is that you’re going to have to play a lot more drawing hands.  This means that you should be playing nearly every pair of suited connectors you receive as well as many of the low pocket pairs that come around.  However, you should keep in mind that the suited connectors are even more crucial because the percentages show players are more likely to win the Bad Beat Jackpot with a straight flush as opposed to a 4-of-a-kind.  Plus it’s really easy for players to get caught up in constantly looking for that seemingly elusive fourth card.

But this doesn’t mean that you should avoid playing for the 4-of-a-kind though because these hands are crucial in maximizing your chances at the Bad Beat Jackpot.  Low pocket pairs can especially be valuable when you get the chance to see the flop, and even turn, cheaply!

Remember though that you don’t want to fall into the trap of trying to go for a lot of backdoor 4-of-a-kinds and straight flushes when the flop misses you entirely.  For instance, a lot of players will get caught up in paying to see the turn when they need two cards for a 4-of-a-kind or straight flush.  The odds of hitting these hands at this point are pretty slim so it’s best to wait until a better flop comes around next time.

Bucksfan1384 Wins $18,363.55 from the Bad Beat Jackpot (Bad Beat Other)
michael008 Wins $18,363.55 from the Bad Beat Jackpot (Bad Beat Other)

Personally, I could really go for $18K for just sitting there while other players get Quads. Really, I could.

Track the Bad Beat Jackpot in real time at CarbonPoker. It’s just a little guy right now, starting out at about $147K. Still decent.

As you may remember, earlier this year, the BBJ paid out at over $1.2Million — a world record. Some student in NY won about $500K.  All this cash flying around makes me wish I’d start losing the right way.

Bad Beat Jackpot Pays Out!

Posted By : CarbonPoker June 11th, 2009

badbeatjackpotBig News!

The CarbonPoker Bad Beat Jackpot has paid out again. This time, over $514,000 was awarded to a lucky table of players after Quad Queens beat Quad 7’s.

As you guys know, the Bad Beat Jackpot pays out after a hand of Quad 7’s or better loses at the table. This is pretty insane.

The “loser” of the hand, Ween10, was awarded $257,089.81 for losing with a no-brainer.

Kdawg1979 took down about $60 from the pot and a sweet $128,544.90 with his share of the BBJ.

The seven other players that were just sitting there each took over $18K. Nice day at the tables, right?

In some heartwarming poker news, this is what kdawg1979 had to say:

“I also just wanted to let you know that two or three nights ago, I played in a freeroll, came in third and won five bucks. I got it up to $60 and went to the Bad Beat tables for about two hours and hit it for $128,000. I’ve never made a deposit and I’ve never had so much money before!”

kdawg1979 continued on, “It all came from the freeroll. I’m happy with my winnings. Thank you! It came at the right time. I have three boys and a wife. We were literally getting evicted. This was a blessing from God. Thank you again, Merge”

I love when promotions like this go off. A hand that started out like any other turns into a pretty monumental moment for all 9 players at the table.

I’ll be posting more on this later on today. Keep a look out!
