With WSOP 2009 fully underway, yesterday gave us a slight lull in bracelets going out, but today more than made up for it.
In the $1,000 buy in No-Limit Texas Hold’em event, Steve Sung beat out the non-Main Event record crowd of 6,012. Every player that made it to the final table took down at least six figures. They all earned it after beating out such a gigantic and competitive field.
Second place Pete Vilandos walked away with $473,283 for his troubles, while Sung took left with $771,106 to go with that shiny gold bracelet.
It took four days for this event to culminate in Sung’s pocket Kings beating out the Vilandos’ snowmen on the final showdown.
Congrats to Sung for his victory. He’s been at final tables at the WSOP and WPT before, but this is his first win and biggest payout to date.
