I haven't written anything for a while, so, today I will share some more poker wisdom.
As you know, all of you already know everything you need or want to know by now about playing poker. After all, your the "BEST". And i'm not going to try to convince anyone otherwise.
Coaching players for 3 years I have to prove the things I teach. So I have them watch me.. and try it themselves. You still with me?
THIS IS MY WISDOM. As in life skills.
I may have all the instructions to build shelving for my poker books, but that doesn't mean I wont hit my thumbnail with the hammer.Applying these instructions is the issue. And even if I know how to hold the nail so I dont hit my thumb that nail might bend or break off. Or go in the wrong direction splitting the wood.

If you think that knowing the outs, percentages, stack counts, positions, etc.. makes you good. You have much to learn. How and when and why to bluff, and against who?. You all know you cant bluff an idiot. And all of us play the donkey action at the tables.. and we all suffer from the bad beats.
How can that be though? Didnt I say you were the BEST? Poker pro's all of you. I know this.
Trust that you aren't aware of the all the skills being used by the hotshot TV poker pro's and you wont find it in any book. Poker is much, much more intense for a real pro.. making his living playing poker. It's ever changing, and you play by your instincts.. learn all you can about the others.. even getting into their heads. Then comes the table.. position.. position in respect to donks.. big stack bullies.. all the info.. is necessary. It changes everytime a new player sits.. or rebuys.. or grabs a big pot. Like watching coffee change color when you add cream. It will soon mix together, but real pro players aren't teaching this in any of their books.. they want the other players to be confident.. and lose. Dress someone up in a fireman's outfit.. give him all the equipment..but leave out what the captains know or the chiefs. He can do just enough to keep in the costume.. in your case.. playing the same.
I know this is getting long and this is why I dont write a book.
For that matter..just keep playing your way.. you win.. right?
I'm probably lying.. because you ARE THE BEST.
I would only tell you the real end of the rainbow.. if I wasn't interested in playing a nice easy .. game. And play the way I do to make a living. I have fun here.. most of you see me playing in the funstep 1's. That's where a player learns. I have problems with donks too.. I have to play them to recognize them, how to avoid getting bad beats from calls you think they should of folded. Yup.. the pro's never stop learning.. or that player.. will find him/herself in a hole playing this game. No joke going broke. Every long time player will tell you.. prepare for the downslides.. they are coming. This is a rollercoaster sport, that has it's ups and downs. The experience required is a degree in statistical mathmatics, coupled with 3 or more years together using this as a psychiatric, socialogical, psycopath.
Yes a real Pro.
Nerves of steel, no pulse, and must have at least 3 years training in the performing arts, bluffing is tricky. (ice water running through the veins is optional.. but not healthy)
You must be in good health as you will need a full physician screen every week to maintain your heart and blood flows to the arms and legs.
You must maintain a a professional manner to keep this work, as getting out of the establishment with their money can be tricky if not.
You must never have any relationships of the opposite sex while at the tables. Distractions will make you lose pots, and they will just make you pay for stuff if they see how much you really make. This is true for both sex's.
Still want to be the poker pro? Are you .. "Really".. qualified? If you are.. did I make it look fun? It's not. It became a job just like any other I ever had.
I may not have pulled in those aussie millions .. yet. I was taught by one of those players that you see. He is a very intense person, and made me from a good player into a player that plays for a living.. consistent.
GOOD LUCK ALL YOU POKER PRO's..
and if you meet all the above requirements. I might be willing to finish your training, and make you the "Fire Chief", Poker Buff.
the1steve... the poker coach.

Here's some wisdom I can share with the poker players that are not increasing their bankroll, or are losing slowly.
First thing is to know your strong game.
I relate poker to fishing a lot. If you go to a stream to fish, you will need special knowledge of how, and know what to use to catch the fish.
Poker is like fishing in that you cant play the same way on every type of poker table. Sure it's all fishing (poker). But your in for a bad day if you try to play the same on a cash table as a multi-table tourn. and for that matter the same on a staked tourn. vrs. a freeroll.
So you have to find your niche. The game that you can count on, master it.
Once you have a steady ready game your confident with. You build your bankroll. The big money comes with deep multitable tourns. So for every multi game you wish to enter, you should have a guideline of increasing your bankroll by 2 times the entrance fee. This way you keep your bankroll going up. Then you take that risk for the big money. After all isn't poker risk? That's my legal adrenaline rush.
God forbid they take my poker away.
Good Luck from the poker coach.
the1steve
