And people often go to great lengths to ensure that their setup promotes good ergonomics. Unfortunately, many online players don’t take the same amount of time to provide themselves with a winning environment in regards to the setup.
Clean it Up, Already
They leave papers or magazines strewn across their playing area, they’re constantly getting up to get something to eat, and they allow all kinds of distractions to go on in the background. And while some players may not even give any of this stuff a second thought, distractions such as these will hinder your game whether you realize it or not.
That’s why you need to make sure your poker area is set up in a professional manner so you can play like a professional. First off, make sure that the desk or playing space you use is clear of any magazines, dishes, debris, etc. before you start play. Having a messy poker area is not only annoying, but it also distracting.

Speaking of distractions, you should make sure to limit the amount of them that you are exposed to during a playing session. A lot of players like to watch TV, chat on instant messenger, and text their friends back and forth while playing.
If you’re serious about winning money then you’ve got to concentrate on poker only, and that means cutting out all of these distractions.
Get Comfy! It’s your home, isn’t it?
Another important element of creating a winning poker environment is to make sure you’ve got everything you need before beginning play. Getting up every five minutes to make something to eat or mess with your thermostat will break your concentration from the game, and could prevent you from learning valuable information about your opponents at the table.
If you’re hungry then get something to eat before the playing session, and also make sure the temperature is set to where you like it. Simple, right?

That’s how your room gets when you are either in a tournament, waiting for
a game to kick in, or on break. I live in the virtual poker realm and have no need to pick up papers, clothes (both clean and dirty) or the empty cans or microwave dinner boxs. I make enough to
have someone come over and clean it. OK… it’s usually one friend or another that cant find the mouse to the
extra computer. Oooops, did I say extra computer? Well I have a real online poker room for my peeps to come play and learn how to play. Good thing
they clean my mess up when they come. I dont know how anyone can live in the ness I make. LOL
The picture reminds me of my daughters rooms when they were children ! When they failed to keep their room cleaned we would bag all the toys up that were on the floor and put them in the actic. They would get those same toys back at Christmas time along with something that Santa brought that was new. lol
