Posted By : CarbonPoker March 15th, 2009

The world has gone somewhat crazy for twitter. Seriously when Hollywood A-Lister’s start tweeting from their own Oscar after parties you know its the new craze. So recently we’ve joined the growing ranks of those tweeting like a canary in a coal mine.

It also appears that our tweeting has not gone unnoticed with our recently created twitter page gaining notoriety and spreading like some type of bad venereal disease. So why have all these other canaries been flocking to our tweeting? For free mullah of course!

Saturday saw the first of many coming exclusive twitter promotions, a $200 freeroll open to all twitter followers. 310 players made the tables and proceeded to battle out with some fine poker action for the following 4 hours.

Congratulations to all those players who cashed and in particular to TheRealBBE1 who took out the coveted first place prize. Well done!

Stay tuned to our tweets for more exclusive promotions and freerolls, and if you haven’t already sold out and bought into the craze – join us at twitter.com/carbonpoker. All your favorite celebrities are doing it!!!!

Boobs Vanderbuilt has a decent pair, also she has pair of 8’s…

Holy “#$%√” a stunning play by mentally ill new comer Phillip Fry, laying down pocket kings, its almost as if he knew Bender Rodriguez had two aces!

ALL-IN, CALL MY MIGHTY BET AT YOUR PERIL!

Commentator Penn Jillete, ” well there we have it folks Bender’s luck has finally run out, no card can save him now”

The final hand of the tournament is dealt, its heads up between Fry and Bender. Fry, if you havent figured it out has the ability to read minds and Bender is made of 30% lucky horse shoes from he luckiest race horses in his native Mexico.

Bender, moves all in.
Fry reads his mind only to discover that he hasnt looked at his cards.
“What! but you havent even looked at your cards!”
“Looking at ones cards is a crutch for players who rely on skill,” states Bender
All in calls fry.
The flop – KKA
Turn K
River A…

“Yes!” yells Fry, “4 Aces!”
“uh uh uh,” Chimes bender as Fry reaches for the chips. “read em and weep! and then tell me what they are…” says Bender.

“Two Kings!” says the Dealer, “and with three on the board, that give Bender 5 Kings”

The Future Of Poker

Posted By : CarbonPoker January 11th, 2009

Its safe to say that this world moves fast. Technology advances in leaps and bounds, and you have to keep up or get left behind. Several years ago the online poker boom came, and since then has managed to stick around and burrow into its own little niche segment of society. So what changes will this see? Here’s a few predictions…

Poker on the hand held device. Iphones, blackberry’s and devices that allow us to be forever plugged into the system (and big brother), are also very capable platforms for us to extend our favorite game to. While poker phone games and similar apps have been around for quite some time, now with 3g and all the other networks we have access to constantly, it is likely you will see your favorite online poker rooms make the cross over to incorporate new gaming platforms into their mix and allow players to log on and play from their pocket computer.

As the tech wave washes over, stats and poker *accounting* will be sure to be swept up in the wake. Currently at live tournaments the world over, their is always a detailed display of information floating around, expect this to continue, to the point where chip counts become automated at each table.

Poker regulation and tax – its a big one at the moment with multiple actions going on in the US. The latest arguments come with the collapse of the economy, in that as governments look for more sin taxes to augment the coffers and other sin taxes, gambling and poker is a prime candidate…

What are your thoughts for the future of poker? Id love to hear them. $5 in your player account for the best response. Dont forget to post using your player name.

Carbon Poker Race Day

Posted By : CarbonPoker July 17th, 2008

Yesterday the entire Carbon Poker team abandoned the inner city office, where we nest in search of some much needed R&R. Our search lead us to an out of the way racing track and some high powered go karts at our disposal. Let the carnage ensue…

Highlights of the day were -
StaffDean smashed in several 23 second laps to take out the fastest lap times and win the final grand prix showdown.
StaffDoug – putting around the track at an estimated 134560 km slower than his fellow racers, belching intoxicating black smoke the entire time. Though he still managed to complete 3 times as many laps as StaffPikey.
StaffDarryl – trying to cut in on a fellow racer on the straight, but somehow ended up play chicken with a mountain of tyres. It did not end well for him.
PartyMarty – While he didn’t do too much damage on the track, he owned the after party, necking a multi colored lineup of drinks including his favorite…Sambucca and milk???

Today, fortunately for you, it’s back to the office for us and working on your favorite poker site. Hopefully your already enjoying the new look site, and there is still plenty of new features to come. Such as a brand new player admin, a player hall of fame, and loads of new content.
