Not bad but im not agree.

First, sorry about my english, isn't perfect but my theory is,like you said, the website make money whit the fee at tournament and rake at cash table. That why you have a lot more bad beat online poker. More money in the pot, more money the website did.
That my theorie..

How many time you see 2 players involve in the pot pre-flop and both flop something ? Only to make the pot bigger. More money on the pot, more money to the hosting website. They make more money in cash game.

That logic and simple!

You know what, I have joined a small group of players that are taking part in a study for the PPA Internet Gaming Bill. In this group we have players, we have math majors, and we have software engineer's. Now what we have found is this, the programs itself for whatever reason are flawed, and it seems to happen on a lot of the sites. You will find the larger stack wins the majority of the time to a smaller stack. Why? See how long the average game lasts, SNG and Tournements. Its about the same time each game, now SNG's may have an average because of the number of players. But how can a 100 player tournement finish in about the same time as a 500 player one? Its all about finishing the game, when the program needs to move the game along this is where you see the big stack wins, bad beats, etc. and the big stack wins 8 out of 10 times in a game. Just a little study we did. Lets hope this bill is passed for the US players, we need to see the game regulated. Good luck.

Nice post and i think all you said is true but im still convinced that online poker is rigged in a way to give much more good hole cards and action flops then in a live game to encourage people to play more hands so they can take rake much faster then in a live game! There is no way that in a live game so often will be dealt good cards and flops and ill be more then satisfied if someone can post some proof that its not like that!!!

This was very funny to read. I really agree with you. But there is one case I have read about rigged poker, at a big poker site. They rigged it so one player won and the poker site get some money and the player a part of it. But I don't know how true it was. Newspaper write a lot.. Thank You for all information! charlie from sweden!

Good analysis and I can't argue with your logic. While I seriously doubt that any sites single out one player and just try to rake the poor guy over the coals I do get the impression that some sites (maybe not all) are "rigged" to increase action at the tables. They accomplish this by putting multiple big pocket hands out there at the same time which increases betting and in turn increases their rake. The percentage of times I see AA vs KK or QQ or AK online is considerably greater than the percentage of times I see it in the casinos.

Also, before you get too far down on the people who claim some online sites are rigged, let's not forget about the whole Potripper scandal over at Absolute a little over a year ago. Not all claims of foul play are unfounded.

Nice blog though. Keep up the good work.

URCHIPSRMINE

Those that whine, call names, and spout out donkey just show their experience level. If you really play poker you see it till you get numb. 1 other thing is I like the donkey calls and bets, this is how players chip up. So leave them alone, quit teaching them how bad the move was, and quit your whining.
the1steve
