brian-lemkeBrian Lemke won his first WSOP bracelet and cashed for the first time – all in the same event. The $5,000 No-Limit Texas Hold’em (Event 15) brought out a slew of competitors and an exciting come from behind win for Lemke.

Going into heads up play, Fabian Quoss had 7,666,000 chips to Lemke’s 2,150,000. Thanks to some smart play and a Queen on the turn, Lemke earned $692,658 for the win. $427,912 went to the runner up. Even a commanding chip lead can swing wildly in No-Limit Hold’em. This is another example of what can happen at the table.

This was especially emotional for Lemke, as this win honored his late cousin, Justin Shronk. Shronk was a beloved poker personality who recently passed away at the age of 27. Lemke dedicated the victory to Justin and the rest of their family.

Congrats to Brian for winning and doing it in such a classy manner.
